Day 1 Recap - The first thing we need to get clear on is that self care is ESSENTIAL for your well being and ability to thrive. It is not a luxury.
It is not selfish, it is essential to our health and wellbeing. It is non negotiable. To be our best selves and reach our highest potential we must do self care. You will end up feeling cared for and fulfilled in a deep way, leaving you with more energy and vitality and with more creativity and sustenance to go on. You will be happier and healthier.
Self care is a deeply nurturing soul practice. Life flows better when we nurture ourselves and no one else is going to do it for you. This commitment has to come from yourself for yourself.
Do you want to live your best life? You have to show up for it!
I have heard from many people I've worked with say that when they even think of doing something for themselves or making time for themselves they feel guilty.
This can’t be further from the truth and a limiting belief that is holding you back.
The truth is that in showing up for yourself you will be healthier and happier and can perform better at your job and/or show up better for your family and loved ones and yourself because you are filled up.

Self Care Challenge Day 2
What does self care look like for you?
What are things that fill up your cup?
I want you to ponder this for a while and then start making your list. A lot of people I’ve worked with get stumped when I ask them this question because they have come so far away from themselves by putting everyone else first or they have let their limiting beliefs stop them, so I will give you some examples of what mine are to help get you started.
For me self care includes:

Now it’s time to think about things that light you up, that fill you up. Things that nurture you and fill you with joy.
Add to this list as you remember or figure out more of what nourishes you and fills you up.
It is a MUST to incorporate self care into your daily schedule.
What are things that fill up your cup?
I want you to ponder this for a while and then start making your list. A lot of people I’ve worked with get stumped when I ask them this question because they have come so far away from themselves by putting everyone else first or they have let their limiting beliefs stop them, so I will give you some examples of what mine are to help get you started.
For me self care includes:
- Starting each and every day with my energy practices, of meditating, grounding and shielding and ending my day with cutting cords- not to worry if this doesn’t resonate with you or you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’ll be teaching you all about it on Day 4!
Self care also looks like me:
- having long luxurious baths
- playing with animals
- spending time doing fun things with people who don’t drain me
- saying no when I truly don’t want to do something
- setting boundaries
- snuggling
- surrounding myself with gentle, loving people and experiences
- reading for pleasure
- making a point of getting outdoors when it’s warm and sunny and safely soaking up the sun while resting
- going to the beach
- paddle boarding, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and hiking in the summer
- snowshoeing and taking walks in the winter
- being in nature- just witnessing the beauty of its splendor, be it watching sunsets, noticing wild animals, enjoying plants and flowers and forest bathing
- playing with children
- exercising in ways that I find fun-love me some yoga and lifting weights!
- eating and drinking high vibe foods and beverages- like organic fruits and vegetables, clean proteins, healthy fats, complex carbs, drinking spring water
- making healthy meals
- taking my supplements
- getting enough sleep is SUPER essential for me!
- taking naps
- picking up garbage when I go for a walk
- saving the worms who come out on the sidewalk in the rain by moving them to the grass so they don’t get stepped on
- waking up without an alarm set
- honoring my sensitivity by being mindful of what I watch and read- violence, horror, killing are no go’s for me
- watching funny videos
- not watching the news
- playing games like bocce ball, tennis, frisbee, speak out, cards
- writing
- coloring
- being playful with my husband-we love tickle fights or me trying to wrestle him lol
- painting
- having dance parties with either just with myself or whoever is with me all the while dancing like nobody is watching;)
- turning up the music when a good song comes on and belting the lyrics along with it
- having quiet time every day
- disconnecting from technology
- going to cottages
- making jewelry
- doing my nails weekly
- getting pedicures monthly
- getting my hair done regularly
- dressing in clothes that make me feel good
- speaking my truth
- standing up for myself and things I believe in
- creating crafty things,
- going to museums and art galleries
- traveling
- exploring new places
- trying new things
- being by the water
- connecting with loved ones
- spending quality time with my husband daily WITHOUT our phones
- spending time alone doing whatever I want to do
- oh and did I mention I have a special affinity for using power tools??? Hahaha know right! But it’s definitely something that brings me deep joy and I find it super empowering!!!
Now it’s time to think about things that light you up, that fill you up. Things that nurture you and fill you with joy.
Add to this list as you remember or figure out more of what nourishes you and fills you up.

Self Care Challenge Day 3
The most effective way to incorporate self care along with your obligations into today’s fast paced living is using a time management tool so it’s scheduled right into your day. The best one I’ve ever used is called time blocking.
Time blocking is uninterrupted, focused time for you to work on what needs to be accomplished so everything is organized and scheduled right into your day. Time blocking is a simple, time tested, practical method that helps to keep you accountable, out of overwhelm and organized.
First: get a sheet of plain paper. Then you are going to make a list of everything, EVERYTHING you do or needs to be done, every task…. think: daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly.
Remember that You MUST include your self care activities. It is an essential and non- negotiable!
Your self care is as important as a doctors appointment.
Next: get the worksheet titled Time Blocking.
Notice the three columns:
-Task
-Time it takes *remember to add in buffer time*
-Sections
Now: add in your tasks from the list you made and the times they take, then name the sections whatever you want, but I’lll give you some examples.
Sections titles could be:
NON NEGOTIABLES- list your self care activities, BE SURE TO INCLUDE FREE TIME!
ESSENTIALS- work, gym, laundry, grocery shopping, paying bills, planning meals, meal prep, cooking meals, cleaning, chores, car servicing, budgeting, book work, any planning that needs to be done, family time, birthdays, birthday parties etc.
APPOINTMENTS- dentist, doctor, hair cuts, include your kids appointments/activities if you have them, meetings, vacations, social commitments, play dates etc.
Or if you have a business you want to get organized here are some examples you can use for sections:
CEO - Do the big things that require a lot of focus and brain power at those times
MEETINGS-client calls, working with clients, referrals and follow ups, scheduling appts
ADMIN- writing emails, responding to emails, accounting, payroll, book work
CONTENT CREATION -for blogs, pics, posts, writing, newsletters, social media, collaboration with others
MARKETING TASKS
**If you have a task you hate doing consider delegating it.
Then: once you’ve done all that then schedule it in an excel spreadsheet (or another easily changeable document, like google docs (www.docs.google.com) or Microsoft Word) first before putting it into your actual calendar. And be sure to ADD IN BUFFER TIME!
Work with it: for about two weeks ( in those two weeks you are moving things around, seeing what works and what doesn’t)
Then: put it all into a calendar. (I use ical which is the Apple Calendar and I love it!)
Voila!!
This technique is even great to use for:
Big Goals or Projects

Self Care Challenge Day 4
Today is all about Creating Boundaries!
Why? So you don’t keep over giving and over extending yourself, so you can feel your best and be your best.
You don't just need boundaries with your relationships and your career. You also need them energetically. Because in truth, everything is energy. We actually have an energetic field around us and that is where the first place a boundary needs to be.
if you take one thing away from this training may it be that you learn first place you must set your boundaries is in your energetic field and that you maintain it daily.
How?
Each and every morning imagine or pretend that you have a shield or a bubble around your entire being (I make mine purple) with the intention that only pure love can bypass to and through it.
By doing so you set up an energetic boundary that blocks out and repels negativity and other peoples "stuff."
That way you will stay in your own clean and clear energy.

Can you believe it's the last day? You are AMAZING for staying committed and making it to today! I want to honor you and congratulate you again for being so brave and so courageous, for showing up, for saying yes to you. For doing the work. In todays training we talked about resistance. Resistance is something that happens whenever you are called to step into more of yourself, when you are asked to expand and grow and heal.
